We are an inclusive, nonprofit homeschool group serving the greater Sioux Falls area. Our group is secular in nature, and is non-discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, ethnic background, political orientation, or family composition. Our primary purpose is to give homeschooling families the opportunity to share activities with each other; doing fun and interesting things together gives us all more opportunities to establish meaningful connections, support each other, and build community. FAIRSD is the Legislative Action Committee of TEACHSD, dedicated to advancing, protecting and securing alternative instruction rights in South Dakota. It is the mission of FAIRSD to protect the inalienable right of the parents in the state of South Dakota to provide alternative instruction for their children. To accomplish our mission, FAIRSD works to unite and inform SD homeschool parents, and win support for alternative instruction with the general public, public officials and lawmakers through education and engagement. FAIRSD closely monitors legislative and administrative activity at the state capitol. We are available to provide advisory and lobbying resources as necessary to defend and advance the rights of SD homeschool families and to ensure fair access to publicly funded educational resources.
