Dr. Michael Platt

Former columnist for Practical Homeschooling Magazine.

Dr. Michael Platt has studied at Harvard, Oxford, and Yale. Here in the States, at Dartmouth and the University of Dallas, and abroad, at Heidelberg, he has taught philosophy, theology, political philosophy, statesmanship, American government, Texas government, biomedical ethics, Rembrandt, and lots of literature. In these fields, especially on Shakespeare, Plato, and Nietzsche, he has published widely. His latest book is The Seven Wonders of Shakespeare.

At Dartmouth he proposed a Liberal Arts Program, which continues to this day at Queens College; at the University of Dallas, he taught its undergraduate core curriculum and directed the Literature part of its integrated Ph.D. program. Of his classes, John Randall, Esq. once wrote, "We all felt that we were a part of something extraordinary. No experience has matched those classes in scope or lasting effect upon myself as a student of the world." He and his wife Patricia are raising four "youngsters"-never to grow into "Teenagers."
